About the Farm

Background

Founded by members of three ranching families with deep roots in the Sacramento Valley and Klamath Basin, the Byrne, Donati, and LaGrande families have been ranching in California for over 100 years. The youngest generation, represented by Matt Byrne, Chris Donati, and Michelle LaGrande, continues to uphold traditional farming methods and maintain the heritage of local farm communities.

Practices

The ranch employs progressive rotational grazing and regenerative agriculture to raise 100% grass-fed and grass-finished cattle. Cattle are raised in a low-stress environment with ample room to roam and access to abundant grass and water. Humane treatment is paramount, with strict adherence to ethical livestock handling standards. The ranch also focuses on environmental stewardship, preserving open spaces, watersheds, native plants, and wildlife, and promoting lush forage growth while preventing overgrazing and sequestering carbon in the soil.
