About the Farm
Background
Founded in 2009 by Jordan and Laura Green after Jordan's 5-year tour with the U.S. Marine Corps, the farm has grown into one of the largest pasture-based farrow-to-finish operations in Virginia. The Greens have developed a variety of farm enterprises on their 500 acres in the Shenandoah Valley, focusing on direct-to-consumer marketing of their pasture-raised pork, poultry, and grass-fed beef.
Practices
The farm employs rotational grazing for their grass-fed beef, moving cows to fresh, pesticide-free grass every few days to ensure a nutrient-dense diet. Pigs are raised in a stress-free environment and fed a diet of discarded apples, peanuts, and GMO-free feed. Chickens and turkeys are fed GMO-free grains and moved frequently in portable shelters to fresh green grass, with no antibiotics ever used. The interconnectedness of their farming practices ensures the health of the animals and the land.
The Rest
The farm offers nationwide shipping and local delivery to Northern VA, Tidewater, and Shenandoah Valley. Customers can shop by the piece or in bulk, and visit the on-farm store to meet the staff. Scheduled farm tours are available throughout the summer. The farm also provides educational resources on food labels, RNA technologies in animal vaccines, and offers a summer produce CSA.
