About the Farm
Background
The Thomas family has been the proud owners and operators of Christiansen's Family Farm since 2017, continuing the legacy of the previous owners due to shared values. With deep roots in ranching history, the family operates on 240 acres in Fairfield, Utah, dedicated to sustainable and humane farming practices. Generational farmers, they cherish the opportunity to work together as a family, instilling kindness and respect for animals in their children from a young age.
Practices
The farm emphasizes humane treatment and natural living conditions for their animals. Berkshire pigs roam freely in a 5-acre paddock, grazing on grasses and rooting through the dirt. Cattle are primarily grass-fed, supplemented with hay, alfalfa, and barley. Lambs are pasture-raised in grassy mountains and finished with barley. No hormones, steroids, or antibiotics are used, and animals have constant access to shelter and the outdoors. The farm custom mixes locally grown grains and legumes for feed, ensuring a stress-free environment that contributes to healthier, more flavorful meat.
The Rest
The farm offers a variety of meat products, including whole and half animals, boxes, bundles, and individual cuts. Orders can be placed online and are delivered monthly to convenient drop locations, with flexibility in pickup arrangements. The farm fosters a strong sense of community through partnerships with local butchers, grain farmers, restaurants, and customers. Visitors are always welcome to see firsthand how the animals are raised. Testimonials from satisfied customers highlight the exceptional taste and quality of the farm's products.
