About the Farm
Background
Located south of Columbus and east of Dayton, Ohio, this family-owned farm has become a cherished destination for berry picking and local produce. Known for their u-pick days, the farm attracts families who enjoy making berry picking a countryside outing. Several area restaurants, including the Winds Cafe and Cobblestone Village, have featured their berries on their menus. The farm has also been voted one of the best u-pick farms in the greater Cincinnati area.
Practices
Though not certified organic, the farm strives to grow berries and produce responsibly without pesticides, focusing on sustainable agricultural and low water use practices. They believe in treating people, land, and community with care and respect, which they see as essential for the prosperity of all three. The farm also raises pastured beef and chicken, providing grass-fed beef and humanely raised meat for the community.
The Rest
The farm offers CSA memberships from May through October and sells homemade jam and local raw honey when available. They have recently added a melon patch and more flower beds. Visitors can follow their updates on Facebook and their website. The farm participates in the downtown Xenia Farmer’s Market during the berry season, which typically runs from late June through mid-September. Monthly homesteading events are also held to foster a local community of like-minded individuals interested in self-sufficiency.
